Terms of Use

Trase is built on trust. You trust us with things that matter to you — images, ideas, moments of inspiration. We take that seriously. These terms exist to be honest about what we do, what we don't do, and what you can expect from us.

Account Terms

You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Use a strong password and, where available, enable two-factor authentication. We cannot be held liable for any loss resulting from unauthorised access to your account.

You must be a person. Automated account registrations are not permitted.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including any content you save.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Trase. If you are under 18, please ensure a parent or guardian has reviewed these terms.

Your Content

Everything you save in Trase belongs to you. We claim no intellectual property rights over your traces — your images, links, notes, or anything else you bring into Trase.

By saving content to Trase, you confirm that you have the right to do so. Please only save content that you own, have permission to use, or that falls within fair use.

Trase is private by default. Your traces are never visible to other users, never shared with third parties for advertising, and never used to train AI models without your explicit consent.

Trase's Intelligence

Trase quietly analyses the content you save — generating titles, summaries, tags, colour palettes, and readable text from images — so you don't have to organise anything manually.

To do this, content may be processed by third-party AI services. We take care to work only with providers that meet our privacy standards.

All suggestions Trase generates are suggestions only. You can edit or delete any of them at any time. You are always in control.

Privacy & Data

We store your traces securely. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

We do not sell your data. We do not show you ads. We do not use your personal traces to train AI models. Your Trase is yours.

We may access your account data in very limited circumstances:

To help resolve a support issue you've raised with us
To investigate security incidents or protect the integrity of the service
When required by applicable law

Plans & Payments

Trase currently offers a free plan. We will never ask for your credit card unless you choose to upgrade to a paid plan.

If and when paid plans are introduced, we will communicate pricing changes with at least 30 days' notice via email.

All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes. Where required by law, we will collect and remit taxes on your behalf.

Cancellation & Data Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within Trase's settings. No questions asked.

When you delete your account, your traces become inaccessible immediately. Within 30 days, all your content is permanently deleted from active systems. Within 60 days, it is removed from all backups.

We'll always give you a way to export your content before you go — this is on our roadmap and will be available before any paid plans launch.

Service Availability

We work hard to keep Trase running reliably, but we cannot make a formal guarantee of 100% availability.

Trase is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may occasionally need to modify, update, or temporarily take down parts of the service.

Acceptable Use

Trase is a private space for saving and rediscovering inspiration. Please use it that way.

You may not use Trase to:

Store, share, or distribute illegal content of any kind
Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or exploit the Trase platform
Harass, threaten, or abuse our team or other users
Circumvent any security or access controls

Liability

We care about Trase and about your data. We invest in security, reliability, and doing right by you. But we also need to be clear about our limits.

Trase shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including loss of data, loss of profits, or service interruption — arising from your use of the service.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make meaningful changes, we will notify you via email at least 14 days before they take effect.

Continuing to use Trase after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
