Trase is a private space to leave traces of what inspires you and rediscover them when you need them.

What We Collect & Why
Our guiding principle is to collect only what we need. Here is exactly what that looks like in practice.
To create and identify your account; to send essential service emails.
To personalise your account and experience within Trase.
To store and display your saved content across all your devices.
To detect unauthorised access and prevent malicious abuse.
To deliver a consistent experience and diagnose technical issues.
To understand how Trase is used so we can continuously improve it.
What we do not collect
We do not build advertising profiles. We do not track you across other websites. We do not buy or receive data about you from data brokers.
AI Processing
To help you rediscover your traces naturally, Trase analyses the content you save — generating titles, summaries, tags, colour palettes, and reading text within images.
What gets analysed
- Images — for visual analysis, colour extraction, and OCR
- Link content — for summarisation and tag generation
- Notes — for contextual tagging and title suggestions
Your Rights
We honour the same universal data rights for all Trase users, regardless of geography.
Request a copy of your personal data in a portable format at any time.
Ask us to correct any inaccurate information we hold about you.
Request that we delete your data by deleting your account entirely.
Object to processing or restrict usage during disputes.

Cookies
We keep this short because there isn't much to it.
Essential
Keeps you signed in, keeps the session secure, and remembers preferences like your theme. These cannot be switched off without breaking the product.
Analytics
We count page views to see which pages are worth keeping, using Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookie and no identifier on your device — visitors are counted from a hash computed on the server that we never receive and cannot tie back to you. There is nothing here to opt out of, which is why it sits under essential rather than behind a switch.
Google Preferred Sources — optional, off by default
Our footer can show a Google button for adding Trase to your news sources. It works by loading a script from Google that embeds a frame served by news.google.com, and that frame is Google's, not ours — it can set and read Google's own storage in your browser, and we can't see or control what it keeps. So we don't load it at all unless you say yes.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Meaningful changes will be notified via email at least 14 days before they take effect.
